More than just "Sit, stay!"

Training for Dogs
Calten Dog Training's boarding and training facility is located at our private residence in Bethpage, Tennessee. The property boasts over 10 acres of grass pasture, hills, forest area, and a myriad of farm animals! Dogs are trained in a home environment, not a high capacity kennel. In fact, our dog capacity is limited to two dogs at a time, ensuring your dog is getting as much personal interaction as he would be getting in his own home. Additionally, we can easily replicate and correct any behavior issues the dog is displaying while in a home setting, such as stealing items off of kitchen counters, chewing furniture, and other inappropriate indoor behaviors.

Training for People
Calten Dog Training offers private lessons exclusively, no group classes. My goal is to provide every dog and handler with a completely custom tailored training program, to ensure everyone gets as much one on-one training as possible and avoiding chaotic group settings. Lessons are held in the client's home, to train in the environment which the dog lives, and we graduate to training in public spaces.

Sports and Adventures
From day training outings, to vacation boarding. Calten dogs are part of a lifelong club! All former clients may opt in to receive invitations to free training outings. We engage in many outdoor activities, such as pack walks, kayaking, hiking, pub hangouts, and urban adventures!
Additionally, all clients with AKC registered dogs may request a Canine Good Citizen or STAR Puppy evaluation added to the end of any training program.

MEET THE TRAINER
My name is Hailey, and I'm the sole trainer running Calten Dog Training, LLC
I have the best job in the world - A hobby that pays! My obsession with dogs began in 2004, when my father bought me my first dog, Tasha, an Australian Cattle Dog who made a habit out of biting strangers. As a child, I took this dog to training classes with my future mentor, Wendy Jeffries. Through Wendy's old fashioned methods which beautifully balanced positive reinforcement with corrective action, I was able to not only solve Tasha's biting problem, but go on to chase my dream in competitive dog agility with her at my side. The rest, as they say, is history! I went on to raise several more dogs of various herding breeds to compete in more sports, such as tracking, rally-obedience, and search and rescue. Yet, this barely scratches the surface of the years of experiences I've been fortunate to have in the dog world.
In 2012, I took a break from dog sports to focus on college and a career in law enforcement. By 2019, however, I returned to my roots and one true passion and started Calten Dog Training as my full-time occupation. Since opening for business, I have helped over three hundred dogs and their humans live better lives together!
